Bubbles by Cleo - June 2008!
Cleo. She
is a Midas Cichlid
"Amphilophus citrinellus"
Origin: Central America
Many people that come into our office always are wondering about our fish Cleo.
At first glance she looks like a very large goldfish, which in fact she is a
Cichlid (pronounced Sick-lid). She’s not your average fish; she is more like
having a dog or cat around. She likes to be played with her tank scrubber stick.
She really likes to play tug of war. Chase your hand across the tank and she
will follow you and try to give you kisses through the glass. She will let you
scratch her head and belly too! Just don’t stick your fingers to close to her
mouth, she has little teeth and she will try to go after you as though you were
her dinner. We don’t know how old Cleo is but we do know she has been apart of
the Affordable Image Family for over 9 years now!
A little unknown fact: Cleo
was given to us by a customer who couldn’t take care of her any longer as well
as their Oscar (an aggressive fish) Cleo was a small tike at the time and didn’t
like him and we also thought Cleo was a male and the former owners named him
Cletis – well now knowing that she is a woman we understand why she nagged him
to death……well she actually bit him until he got sick and died. He should have
known the strength of a woman.
